Traditionally, every year we hold a School Christmas Online Tournament for children. We invite kids all over the world to take part in the final tournament of the outgoing year. Christmas Tournament will take place on December 26 2021 on CHESS.COM. Participation in the tournament is absolutely free.

TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS

1. Place and time

The tournament will take place on Sunday December 26 2021 on CHESS.COM. It will start at 13:00 p.m. (GMT+3).

2. Participants

Chess players under 12 years old are allowed to participate. Participation is absolutely free.

3. Procedure and format of the event

The tournament will be held according to the Swiss system with 7 rounds. The expected duration of the tournament is two hours.
Time control - 7+2 (7 minutes for a game with 2 extra seconds for each move).

4. Winners and awards

The winners are determined by the highest number of points in two age categories: participants under 7 years old and under 12 years old.

The winners will be awarded with real trophies and gifts. All packages will be shipped to the winners through Hellenic Post (ELTA).

To participate in the tournament you need to complete the following steps:

1. Open CHESS.COM and Sign up. It's easy, fast and free! If you already have an account, skip this step.

2. Then follow the link https://www.chess.com/club/fianchetto-chess-school/join and join the team of our school. Only participants who have joined the team will be able to take part in the tournament.

3. Send your Name, Birth Date and CHESSCOM Name to your coach or school administration on fianchettoschool@gmail.com, so we could know what nickname you are using and in what age category you will compete.

4. Join the tournament by following the link https://www.chess.com/play/tournament/2791536 or you can make it direct from our Team Page. Click JOIN. After that, you will see yourself in the list of participants.
