Fianchetto School and DIKEP Ano Liosion (Athens, Greece) are organizing a Friendly Children’s Chess Battle for kids under 10 years old. The tournament will take place on April 11 2021 on LICHESS.ORG. Participation in the tournament is absolutely free.

TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS

1. Place and time

The tournament will take place on April 11 2021 on LICHESS.ORG. It will start at 12:00 p.m. (GMT+3).

2. Participants

Chess players under 10 years old are allowed to participate. Participation is absolutely free.

3. Procedure and format of the event

The tournament will be held according to the "Arena" system. It will last 90 minutes.
Time control - 7+3 (7 minutes for a game with 3 extra seconds for each move).

4. What is "Arena"

In Arena tournament you need to earn as many points as possible in a certain time, defeating opponents from the other team. There are no rounds in an Arena Tournament. The games can be played one after the other. You'll be paired with people as close to your rating as possible while still giving you games as quickly as possible. If any participant wants to leave the tournament earlier, it will not negatively affect the team's result. The main goal is to bring points to your team!

To participate in the tournament you need to complete the following steps:

1. Open LICHESS.ORG and Sign up. It's easy, fast and free! If you already have an account, skip this step.

2. Then follow the link https://lichess.org/team/ZZYINJGw and join the team of our school. Only participants who have joined the team will be able to take part in the battle.

3. For school students: Send your Lichess name to your coach or school administration, so we could know what nickname you are using.

4. Join the tournament DKP vs FianchettoSchool U10 Team Battle by following the link https://lichess.org/tournament/QCzEZyTP or you can make it direct from our Team Page. Click JOIN. After that, you will see yourself in the list of participants.

Ready! Don't forget to be online on April 11 at the starting time on LICHESS.ORG and get ready to play for your team! Let's fight for the school!
